So you’re on a mission to lose weight — and you’ve been doing hours of cardio at our Newton fitness studio each week and not seeing results. It’s time to throw in strength training! Why would adding strength training to your routine be beneficial and speed up the weight loss process? Let me tell you!

By increasing your muscle mass, you will likely increase your metabolic rate. Muscle requires more energy to maintain than fat, and this will result in burning more calories at rest AND during exercise. Strength training will also help you maintain your muscle, even in a fat-loss phase.

Meanwhile, your cardio sessions help you burn more calories to aid in your weight loss journey. Both cardio and strength training sessions are critical for long-lasting results!

If you’re new to strength training at our Newton gym, don’t be afraid! Our certified coaches are here to help you every step of the way. While in a group setting, you get the 1-on-1 attention of personal training for a fraction of the cost. Our coaches will be by your side suggesting modifications, weight selection, and even a little push as you progress!

Here at Bfitt:60 Group Training, we offer both Strength and Burn days so you get the best of both worlds! We offer Strength days Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Burn days (cardio) are on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays! Our Strength and Burn days are alternating to avoid over-training.
